Ice Queen

i loved drawing this one...

after 'little girl winter' i was in a wintery mood and decided to scour DA for great stock photos of wintery things... i've got a few others to do but this was the winner!

It was a real challenge, especially the background! i've never drawn snow before, i hope it came out ok... in hindsight i wish i had blended the background more, i forget it goes grainy on the scan if you dont... looks fine on the original though, i would go back and change it but i think i'm done now!

I had to make the background up from my head and with the use of a few snow photographs as reference. the hood too, was a challenge but i have discovered a new technique whilst experimenting and again i think i'm happy!

and the last thing... i changed her eyes to blue for the sake of the mood of the picture... icy blue, for an icy scene!

it's supposed to be snowing at the moment, the whole of the UK is blanketed except my little town of windsor! send snowy thoughts my way!
